Insurance Corporation of Afghanistan (ICA) was established in 2007 in response to the demand for an officially licensed and capitalised private multi-line insurance company, meeting the insurance needs of companies operating in this country. ICA offers a comprehensive range of cost-effective commercial insurance solutions, providing business risk protection for multi-national and Afghan companies in all key industry sectors. ICA has reinsurance backing using only major ‘A’ security rated International re-insurance markets including Lloyd’s of London, providing access to global expertise and superior claims capacity. We have provided clients with in excess of US$ 22bn insurance coverage to date. Our highly experienced team of international insurance professionals, along with qualified Afghan graduates, is available 6 days a week to discuss and give advice concerning the protection of business risks in Afghanistan, as well as throughout the South Asia region.
ICA congratulates the construction team at Procon Construction for successfully completing the new multi-span bridge in Uruzgan province funded by USAID. Overcoming tough challenges throughout the construction, Procon delivered a civil engineering project that is important to local economic development. ICA is proud to have provided support by arranging all the construction and asset insurance's necesary to protect the overal project investment.

2013 Outlook

ICA experienced strong client demand for insurance products throughout 2010, 2011 & 2012, culminating in a particularly busy 4th quarter up the end of the year. Enquiries from companies and institutions in the construction and financial sectors continue to accelerate as we progress through the 1st quarter of 2013, pointing to an increasing recognition of locally purchased insurance as a risk mitigant for important infrastructure and regeneration projects and new building activity. We expect the trend of increasing demand to continue throughout 2013, and look forward to assisting our existing and new clients to meet their challenges and targets through the year.

Access to Finance Exhibition, Kabul

Companies and organisations operating or doing business in Afghanistan should be aware that direct puchase of insurance from an oversease insurance company, not holding an insurance license issued by the Afghanistan Ministry of Finance, is illegal under Afghan law and punitive actions will be taken by the authorities for breach of law.
